Goodies

Got my order from http://www.holisticshop.co.uk/ today... Some much needed incense (haven't had any in weeks, and was waiting for the guy on the tuesday market. He hasn't been in 3 weeks, and has now lost the chance. Selected a meditation blend.)
Also bought some new cyrstals. (Ok, ok, so I blew over a tenner, but sometimes we just deserve it) A circular Solodite - is a lovely even dark blue -, a blue lace agate tumble stone (who forms a lovely natural pyramid shape!) and also a large rose quartz carved heart. She's so beautiful in paticular, and is extremly bright, with a really good clarity. I plan on using these new bits (incense and heart) in a medi leading up to our holiday date. Don't have long to go now!
Also bought a crystal chip necklace for a close family friend who is going in for a heart operation in the near future (All the tests have been done, waiting for an opening at one of the 2 hospital nearby who can perform procedure... sigh) it has many properties suiting operation recovery, and prevention of infection.

Pictures of Umbrella Fair.

Umbrella Fair 'Review'

Lots of fun had by all, both of them got their faces painted as it was with something that wouldn't interfere with the eczema, so result! DD1 was a blue butterfly, DD2 a mouse (nose and whiskers, as she doesn't sit still for long).

Lots of stalls and a good mix of information and fair trade, as well as good wholesome food outlets, including a total of 5 (?!) jacket potatoe sellers... I did wonder how they all made any money today...

We had our picnic while listening to the Dhol Drummers. Excellent, DD1 now wants a Dhol Drumming CD, quick trip to http://www.passiondiscs.co.uk/ - normal 1st stop for our purchases of this ilk. She really got into it, and was drumming in time to the performers on her knees.

Also found some lovely 'pagan' jewellery (some pagan items, but most made using crystals and some 'new age' items of clothing etc) at the stall of the lovely lady from www.astarte-moon.co.uk
Selected a pretty white pentagram braclet, but given my volunteering at a church playgroup, asked if she had anything like it with only one pentagram adornment, or something with other less obvious pagan symbolism - I'm all for self expression, but I like these people and don't want to cause unnessercary offence.. - and she sat there with some pliers and took my 'creative input' on board, changed one pentagram for a far smaller one, and the other 2 for butterfly (joy, constant re-birth) and faerie (with gorgeous fillagree wings!).

Also watched a couple of accoustics sets, Louis Barret and Her guitarist/backing vocalist/pianist and Chris Startup. Saw some of the Toby Starke and Ben (not Stuart!) set, but DD2 was getting restless. We went round stalls and came back for Chris. Saw 'SaxBombs' first thing... loved the premiere of composers work, full of life. Will be you tubing that one!

Also went over to the craft marquee and added to the Little people: Big crowd, with DD1s person, telling everyone to 'draw on both sides of the paper' - her idea for environmental change! We took her early as we had a long drive, but by the time we collected they'd got quite the crowd they were hoping for (a great result...)

Party Time

Great fun had by all, quick selection of photos, rather than large ammounts of type to sum up the day...

Friends little one finds mine and DDs guitars... almost tempted to plug electric one in for her!
Neighbours may not have liked that.... ;)

Asleep after very busy day. Went down to Waitrose as we were out of milk. so far gone, snoring at back of our car. (DD1 was too tierd to walk, so reluctantly resorted to engine power, as DD2 too tierd to let me or Dad walk down, without crying and screaming. Was just better for everyone to go as family unit!)

DD2 enjoying every second of her special day. Looking very deep and reflective for a (newly) 2 year old as well. Penny for them, my Honey?

What? Sorry, no babies here....

DD2 is 2 today. Doesn't seem that long ago we bought home a little sister, a baby, later an eating machine and for the past couple of weeks it would seem a prima donna......

Wishing, and hoping, and wishing...

All I want is clear skies tomorrow, directly over our town park, from about 11.45am (so we can set up picnic blankets etc for 12) til 2pm...any such thing as a sun dance... Or is that too much to ask....?

Butterfly walk.

We all went on a slow gentle family ramble, on Sunday, in one of our local protected green space (http://www.greensandtrust.org/) and wanted to share our pics, taken on the 'Butterfly walk' organised by the trust, which we had gone up there to attend.

Lovely meeting some like minded parents and an elderly gentleman, whose knowledge was as good as our guides, if not possibly *whispers* better.

DD1 loved it all, writing spottings down, drawing pictures of what she saw, identifiying using our guides book, and elderly gents chart and DD2 got sooo excited by all the pretty 'Bubba-Flies'. Saw a few gatekeepers and a peacock, that flew off to quickly to get pic of.... Oh well, maybe next time.

Soon, Soon.

I won't have a baby anymore. DD2 is celebrating her 2nd birthday on Wednesday, and that leaves our baby days well and truly behind us....
A party in the local park is planned with 16 friends, and picninc blankets and healthy, sensible snacks a-plenty, with each child getting some bubbles at the end.
I'm hoping for good weather or they are all in our quite small 2 bedroom near the station!
